Short answer
Georgia has 18 official public holidays a year: New Year on 1-2 January, Christmas on 7 January, Epiphany on 19 January, Mother's Day on 3 March, 8 March, National Unity Day on 9 April, four days of Easter, 9 May, 12 May, 17 May, Independence Day on 26 May, Mariamoba on 28 August, Svetitskhovloba on 14 October and Giorgoba on 23 November. Holidays falling on a weekend are not moved to a weekday.

Details
On 12 May Georgia marks St Andrew the First-Called and the Day of Georgia as the abode of the Holy Mother, and on 17 May the Day of Family Purity and Respect for Parents. Banks and government offices close on holidays, while shops and restaurants usually stay open.
