Marita Expects Dairy Prices to Rise Another 10% This Winter on Milk Shortage
Marita expects dairy prices to rise by roughly another 10% this winter, BMG reports. According to the company, the size of the increase will depend on milk availability and purchase prices.
The purchase price of raw milk is up by 0.10 to 0.20 lari per litre from a year earlier. Marita has already raised its prices by about 10%, while its raw material costs have grown by 15 to 20%. A seasonal shortage has cut milk supplies by around 25%, and over the coming month the drop could reach 50%, the company estimates.
