Galt & Taggart: Renewables Provided 77.5% of Electricity Supply in September
According to the Electricity Market Watch report for September 2026, published on 20 October, renewable sources provided 77.5% of total electricity supply, versus 71.9% in September 2025. Hydropower generation rose 8.3% year on year.
Thermal generation fell by 15.4% and imports by 68.4%. Galt & Taggart analysts link the growth in hydro generation to favourable hydrological conditions.
