Galt & Taggart Estimates May–July Generation Curtailment at 0.5 TWh

In its Electricity Market Watch of 20 October 2026, Galt & Taggart analysts estimated generation curtailed due to low demand in May–July 2026 at about 0.5 TWh, or 500 million kWh. In the first 9 months of 2026, electricity exports to Turkey fell by 51.1% year on year.

The analysts say investment support should take into account the seasonal generation profile and the contribution of projects to power system reliability.
