How much do electricity, gas and utilities cost in Georgia?
Electricity, gas and water tariffs and what makes up the bill.
Short answer
Since 1 April 2026, household electricity in Tbilisi costs about 20 tetri per kWh for up to 101 kWh a month, about 24 tetri up to 301 kWh and about 28 and a half tetri above that. The household gas tariff has been kept unchanged until the end of 2026. Bills are highest in winter, when flats are heated with gas.
Why
- Electricity, gas and water tariffs are set by the national energy and water regulator, GNERC.
- The more electricity you use, the higher the rate for each additional kilowatt-hour.
- Electricity tariffs in the regions are slightly lower than in Tbilisi.
Details
Summer utility bills for a small flat are usually modest, but in winter with gas heating they can rise several times over. Besides electricity, gas and water, you pay for rubbish collection and sometimes building maintenance.
