Regulator may set different household gas tariffs by consumption volume
According to the Legislative Herald of Georgia, an amendment to Article 163 of the law on energy and water supply allows the regulator to set different household gas tariffs depending on consumption volume. This power applies until 1 January 2038. For household water supply, similar powers apply until 1 January 2036, and service costs may be distributed differently among consumer categories.
The law is dated 28 October 2026 and takes effect upon publication. It defines powers and transition periods but sets no specific rates and does not mean tariffs will automatically rise.
