GNERC Fines GWP GEL 75,000 Over Rustavi Water Supply Violations
GNERC announced on 15 October 2026 a fine of GEL 75,000 on Georgian Water and Power. The reason is that Rustavi's water supply systems do not meet technical norms and safety requirements.
Head facilities, pumping stations and the company's own electrical equipment must be brought into compliance by 1 July 2027. Aqueduct No. 5 on the Mtkvari River must meet technical norms no later than 31 December 2026.
