The second Dormition church of Obcha Street stands higher up the slope, about two and a half kilometres from its namesake. The names of the two churches coincide entirely, so they have to be told apart by position.
Here the collection of religious sites of Georgia, begun on the Adjaran coast, comes to an end: a hundred and fifty churches from the mountains above Batumi to the Kakhetian vineyards, from the Armenian chapels of Samtskhe-Javakheti to the mosques of Kvemo Kartli and the Gurian foothills. Two identical churches on one street make a fitting finale: this whole geography rests on repetitions, variations and small differences.
No dating has become attached to the building. Dress soberly, women bring a headscarf. The namesake stands lower down the same street, and both can be seen in one short trip.
