The Trinity church complex in the western part of Akhmeta is a working church yard by the road towards Tianeti. Sameba, as the Trinity is called in Georgian, is one of the chief dedications of Kakhetian churches, and the Akhmeta complex worthily continues that line.
Together with the Archangels complex at the other end of town it makes a short Akhmeta route: two church yards and the whole town between them. The walk from one to the other takes half an hour and shows Akhmeta from within, without transit haste: yards, shops and schoolchildren along the way.
One enters freely, with the usual courtesy of a working church: modest dress, a headscarf for women, silence during worship. At Trinity the complex is especially busy.
