The Kviratskhoveli church on the western edge of Akhmeta is a church by the exit towards Tianeti. Kviratskhoveli is a traditional Georgian dedication tied to the Sunday after Easter, and churches with this name are scattered across Kakheti, from the Alazani villages to the foothills.
The roadside position makes the church a natural stop on the way out of town. Together with the Trinity complex next door it forms the western pair of the Akhmeta church circle, while the eastern one is held by Ninotsminda and the Archangels complex: the whole town circle is covered in an hour.
One enters freely, with the usual courtesy of a working church: modest dress, a quiet voice, respect for a service if one is under way. It is convenient to look in both on the way out of town and on the way back.
