The Ninotsminda church on the south-eastern edge of Akhmeta is a church of St. Nino by the road towards Kistauri, consecrated in the name of the Enlightener of Georgia. A practical stop on the way out of town towards Telavi, where the town houses give way to fields. The church is visible from the road, and the stop takes mere minutes.
Ninotsminda closes the south-eastern corner of the Akhmeta church circle: the Archangels complex is nearby on the edge, and further on the road leads to Kistauri with its churches and tower. A good start for a route through the villages between Akhmeta and Telavi.
One enters freely, with the usual courtesy of a working church: modest dress, a quiet voice, respect for a service if one is under way. Beyond it the road runs on into the villages of the Alazani plain.
