The Elene Ioseliani House Museum keeps the setting of a village house and the objects tied to the name of its owner: furniture, dishes, textiles, photographs and documents. Collections like this take shape inside a family and show the life of a Kvemo Kartli village as it looked from within. The format is intimate, suited to small groups.
The house stands in Jvara, a village in the Tetritskaro municipality, among the hills and fields of Kvemo Kartli. Around it are pastures, tree belts and local roads. Tetritskaro is less than half an hour away.
The house is small and half an hour is enough. The first half of the day is the easier time, and it is better to arrange the visit through the village in advance. The same village holds a second collection, convenient to see together.
Tips
- Plan both village museums at once, they stand close together
- Check the way in the village, navigation is imprecise here
- Combine the trip with a wider Kvemo Kartli route
How to get there
- West from Tetritskaro along the local road, about twenty minutes by car
- Roughly an hour and a quarter from Tbilisi via Kojori and Tetritskaro
