The Chinese company Hunan Road and Bridge Construction Group Co Ltd officially registered its representative office in Georgia on May 10, 2019 under the name “Hunan Road and Bridge Construction Group Ltd.” Previously, since November 28, 2018, the company was already registered on the Unified Portal of Public Procurement of Georgia. According to the public register of Georgia, the company owns a land plot with an area of 43,059.00 square meters in the city of Khashuri, at the address Borjomi N2, intended for non-agricultural use.

The company attracted attention by winning the tender for the construction of the Khevi-Ubisa (F2) section of the E-60 highway, which is part of an important 51.6 km highway connecting the eastern and western parts of Georgia. This and other sections of the highway are being built by state-owned Chinese companies. The project is financed from the Asian Development Bank, and the total cost of the project is GEL 732,296,478.02.

Ten bidders participated in the tender for the work, and Hunan Road and Bridge Construction Group Co Ltd won the tender by offering the lowest price.
