The State Silk Museum is located in an old building in the very center of Tbilisi. This is one of the most unique museums in Georgia!

Here you will enjoy not only beautiful exhibits of ancient silks from all over the world, but also see exhibits demonstrating silk production, see cocoons of silkworms and just learn a lot of new things!

The collection of antique silks is all imbued with the spirit of that time and will allow you to touch the history. The museum staff will agree to tell you about the exhibits for free and conduct a small tour.

Der Besuch im Museum war sehr erfreulich. Es ist empfehlenswert, im Untergeschoss das Video über das Leben der Raupen anzuschauen, da es die gesamte Ausstellung viel interessanter und verständlicher macht. Sowohl wir als Eltern als auch die Teenager (14 und 17 Jahre alt) konnten viel Neues lernen und hatten dabei großen Spaß. Ein tolles Erlebnis für die ganze Familie!

Ein großartiges Erlebnis! Das Gebäude ist beeindruckend und die Ausstellung über die Seidenraupe ist traditionell in alten Vitrinen. Sie wurde sehr liebevoll gestaltet. Im Keller gibt es außerdem einen spannenden Dokumentarfilm über den Lebenszyklus der Raupe. Definitiv sehenswert!

It was a lovely and fascinating experience! I really enjoyed the old museum, and the documentary was fantastic! The entry fee was 12 lari, which was definitely worth it! There were two exhibitions during my visit! A must-see!
