The church is dedicated to St Nectarios of Pentapolis, a Greek saint venerated in Georgia as well. It stands in Zahesi, by the northern boundary of Tbilisi.
The site lies on a slope above the Kura valley, between the city and Mtskheta. Zahesi has other churches too: the Dormition church and the church of the Unexpected Joy icon.
Visits are free and modest dress is appropriate for services. A headscarf is useful for women, and quiet is expected inside.
