Naeklesiari means the site where a church once stood. Here it concerns a sakdari bearing the name Aguri: the word aguri in Georgian means a brick, and such names in Kartli usually belonged to buildings of fired clay, rare among stone churches.
Saguramo lies five kilometres from Mtskheta, on the slopes of the Saguramo range above the Aragvi valley. The village is known as the place where Ilia Chavchavadze lived and worked, and his house museum still stands here. The church of St. George at Tserovani stands about six kilometres away.
What there is to see is the ground and the remains of masonry rather than walls. The stones are not moved, the foundation is not stepped on, nothing is carried away. The road from Mtskheta is short and passable all year, and the climb to the site runs over grass.
