The basilica of the Archangels stands in Varjaani village of Kaspi Municipality. The dedication joins the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, and a basilica in Georgia means an elongated hall church.
Varjaani lies south of Kaspi, in the hills above the Mtkvari valley. Gudaleti, Tsinarekhi and other villages of the municipality are scattered along the neighbouring valleys.
Regular services may not be held, and the basilica can be approached at any time. Modest clothing is appropriate, and the old walls deserve careful treatment.
