The church of John the Baptist stands in Tskhaveri village in the east of Shida Kartli. In Georgian the saint is called Natlismtsemeli, the Baptist, and churches of his name are found all over the country.
Tskhaveri lies south of Kaspi, in the hills above the southern valleys. The St. George church of Odzisi, the Holy Trinity church of Noste and the church of St. Theodore in Ertatsminda stand nearby.
Regular services may not be held, and the church can be approached at any time. Modest clothing is appropriate, and candles and offerings are left in their places.
