The monastery of St George stands on Mount Ulumbo in the northern part of Khashuri Municipality, above Chorchana village. The place is secluded, away from any houses.
The slopes of Ulumbo are covered with forest, and the track climbs here from Chorchana on gravel. About half a kilometre downhill stands the Ulumbi church of the Virgin Mary; together they form a single sacred site.
There are no regular services here, and you can walk up at any time. Modest dress and quiet are appropriate, and the buildings deserve care.
