The Virgin Mary church stands on the slope of Mount Ulumbo, above Chorchana village. Locals name it after the mountain, Ulumbi.
About half a kilometre higher up stands the monastery of St George, so the climb up Ulumbo leads to two sacred places at once. The track here runs on gravel through the forest.
There are no regular services here, and you can walk up at any time. Modest dress and quiet are appropriate, and offerings are left where they are.
