The monastery carries the name of Tadeoz Stepantsmindeli and stands in the wooded area of Tetrankhevi in the east of Shida Kartli. The place also appears as Tetrakhevi, a spelling used on signs and road markings.
The area lies north of Kaspi, in the hills above the Kura valley. A couple of kilometres below begins Igoeti with its Holy Trinity church and parish church, and the Punagisi church stands nearby.
Modest clothing is appropriate in the monastery, and women may want a headscarf. The climb runs along a dirt road, so dry weather makes the drive easier.
