The church of St George stands in Aghaiani village. A dedication to St George is the commonest in Georgia, and in Shida Kartli few villages are without one.
Aghaiani lies between Mtskheta and Kaspi. Another shrine of the village stands higher, on Mount Tkhoti: the church of St Nino about two kilometres and three hundred metres away, and the road towards Akhalgori runs past the mountain.
This is a parish church and the rules are the usual ones: covered shoulders and knees, a headscarf for women, quiet, photography inside by permission. If you mean to climb Tkhoti after the church, allow time, as a mountain road leads up.
