The church of St. Marine stands in Ruisi village of Kareli Municipality. Marine is the Georgian form of the name Marina, and churches of hers are many in the country.
Ruisi lies east of Kareli, on the plain by the Kura valley. The village has long been known in the church history of Kartli: a convent of the Virgin is active here, and the Sioni and the St. Nino church stand nearby in Urbnisi.
