This church carries a double dedication: to the Dormition of the Mother of God and to the apostles Peter and Paul. Such a pairing is uncommon; a village church usually keeps to one name.
Ksovrisi lies right on the seam of the Kaspi and Mtskheta country. The Tezi churches stand a kilometre and three hundred metres away and a little further, the Ivlita chapel at Lamiskana almost three kilometres off, and the church of St George in the same Lamiskana three and a half.
The church is rural and its gates are opened by arrangement, and the village will point you to the right person. The rules are the usual ones: covered shoulders and knees, a headscarf for women, quiet. The church keeps two patronal days, and it is crowded here on both.
