The Bermukha monastery stands in the hills near Kodmani village in the west of Shida Kartli. The community is small and hidden from the road by a ridge.
The area lies south of Khashuri, above the Kura valley, where the slopes are covered with forest. About a kilometre away stand the Apostles cross and a prayer house, usually visited together with the monastery.
Modest clothing is appropriate in the monastery, and women may want a headscarf. The climb runs along a dirt road, so dry weather makes the drive easier.
