The Kintsvisi community is dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin and stands near Kintsvisi village of Kareli Municipality. It is a convent and one of the best known places of the region: people come here from all over Georgia.
The monastery is tucked into the wooded hills south of Kareli, and the road climbs to it from the Kura valley. A small church called Nazareti stands a kilometre away, with the monastery of the Nativity near Vedreba a little further.
In a convent modest clothing and a headscarf are appropriate, and men are expected in trousers and a sleeved shirt. Photography and attending services are best agreed with the sisters.
