The church of the Archangel stands in Khandaki village of Kaspi Municipality. Mtavarangelozi in Georgian means the Archangel, most often Michael.
The village also appears as Kvemo Khandaki, with kvemo meaning lower: it should not be confused with Zemo Khandaki south of Kaspi, as these are different villages of the municipality. Khandaki lies east of Kaspi, not far from the road to Mtskheta.
Regular services may not be held, and the church can be approached at any time. Modest clothing is appropriate, and candles and offerings are left in their places.
