The church at Chandrebi near Zemo Khvedureti village is dedicated to Kviratskhovloba, the first Sunday after Easter, and a convent is active beside it.
Zemo in Georgian means upper, which is how the village is told apart from the lower Khvedureti. The area lies south of Kareli, in the hills above the Kura valley, and the village also has a church of St. George.
In a convent modest clothing and a headscarf are appropriate, and men are expected in trousers and a sleeved shirt. Photography and attending services are best agreed with the sisters.
