The mosque serves the Sunni community of Mokhe village. The building is new, raised for local believers, and remains the centre of the village’s religious life.
Mokhe lies in the Kvabliani valley west of Adigeni, among the green slopes of the Meskheti range. Meskhetian Muslims live in the villages of this part of Samtskhe, and mosques here stand alongside the Christian churches of the area.
