The church in Diliska is a modest village church by the northern entrance to Akhalkalaki. It stands among the village houses and lives by the rhythm of the surrounding yards: no timetables and no tours, yet two minutes from the main road of the plateau, which carries all the transit to Ninotsminda and on to the border.
Diliska has practically grown together with the town, and the church marks the border where Akhalkalaki ends and rural Javakheti begins. A short stop for those who want to feel that transition rather than shoot past it.
One enters freely, with ordinary rural courtesy: a quiet voice, modest dress, respect for the yards. If the church is shut, a look from outside is enough: the walls and the yard tell of the village no less than the interior.
