Tetnuldi Ski Resort is located in Mestia Municipality, 15 kilometres from Mestia, on the slopes of the mountain of the same name (4,858 m). The resort has operated since February 2016 and is considered Georgia's second-largest after Gudauri: piste elevation ranges from 2,260 to 3,165 metres, total length exceeds 25 kilometres, the longest run stretches 9.5 kilometres, and five lifts serve guests.
Tetnuldi's slopes are mostly geared toward intermediate and advanced skiers: the resort suits experienced skiers and snowboarders better than complete beginners, though basic learning areas do exist. Some sections carry avalanche risk, so it's worth checking official warnings carefully before heading off-piste. The resort is particularly prized for quality snow and extensive freeride terrain. The mountain's name comes from a Svan legend of tragic love: Tetnuldi and the neighbouring peak Ushba are said to be a couple separated and turned into mountains, forever facing each other across the valley.
According to reviews, reaching the resort in winter can be tricky: lifts typically operate only until 4pm, and some on-site services close by midday, so an early start is worth planning for. The drive from Mestia by 4x4 takes around 40 minutes. Renting skis in Mestia beforehand is the more convenient option.
