The church of St. George stands in Chvabiani, a Svan village of the Mulakhi community, ten kilometres from Mestia.
The Mulakhi villages stretch along the slopes above the river, and towers here are almost as many as houses. Seven hundred metres away stands the church of the Saviour of Tsaldashi, and a kilometre off the Majvdieri church of the Holy Trinity and the St. George church of Tsaldashi.
