Lake Udziro is located in Oni Municipality, Racha-Lechkhumi, between the Katitsvera (about 3,300 m) and Dolomisi peaks, at an elevation of around 2,800 metres, among the natural attractions of the region. The lake's name translates as "bottomless."
The hike usually begins from Shovi or Ghlola village and takes about two days. The route passes through spruce forest, alpine meadows and rocky sections, with an elevation gain of roughly 1,500-1,800 metres: it requires stamina and hiking experience. The best time to visit is from early summer (June) through October; the lake freezes over in winter. In summer the water warms to a comfortable 10°C or so, and camping by the lake under the stars becomes one of the most memorable parts of the trip.
