Of the church of St. George at Pipileti only ruins remain. The dedication has survived, the building has not: in mountain Racha this happened often, when a village emptied and the walls were no longer looked after.
Pipileti lies three kilometres from Oni, in the Rioni valley. The church of Sorgiti stands about a kilometre away, the Trinity church with no village given three, the church of St. George at Zhashkva three kilometres. The valley here is narrow, and the shrines of neighbouring hamlets are visible almost one from another. Downstream stands Oni, the administrative centre of Racha.
What there is to see is the masonry and the plan rather than vaults. Ruins ask for care: the stones are not moved, the foundation is not stepped on, nothing is taken away. The climb is over grass; in summer closed shoes are better, in spring the path is damp.
