The church is known by a single word, without a dedication. In the upper Racha this happens often: the villages are thinly peopled, the parishes long out of use, and of the old names only the word church and the name of the hamlet remain.
Tevresho lies in the upper Rioni, twenty three kilometres from Oni. Its nearest neighbour, the church of the Saviour at Ghebi, stands about four kilometres away, and further up the valley is Chiora. Above begin the passes to the North Caucasus, and the road ends not far from here.
The place is high and remote, in winter snow closes the road and in spring meltwater washes it out. Summer is the better time to come. The building is viewed from outside, and the old masonry asks for care: the stones are not moved, nothing is taken away. Further up the valley there are almost no inhabited places and no reliable signal.
