A village church of the Most Holy Mother of God. Together with the neighbouring church of Saint George it forms the commonest pairing of dedications in Georgia: the warrior patron and the Intercessor, approached on different occasions.
The church stands in the eastern part of Bazaleti, about seven hundred metres from the Saint George one, so a few minutes on foot along the village street separate them. The village lies by Lake Bazaleti, west of Dusheti. The century of building is unknown and no builders are recorded.
The church is in use, the parish is small and there are no regular services. It can be approached at any time; inside it is customary to cover shoulders and knees, and women cover their heads.
