The church of St George stands in Mukhatskaro village of Mtskheta Municipality. It is associated with the Gabashvili family, and the surrounding area uses that name for it.
The village lies on the northern slopes of the Didgori ridge, between Tbilisi and Mtskheta. A kilometre and a half to the south, in Kvemo Lisi, stands the church of St Eustathius Placidas.
You can walk up at any time, and modest dress is appropriate for services. Quiet is expected inside, and candles are lit by the entrance.
