The church of St Eustathius Placidas stands in Kvemo Lisi village of Mtskheta Municipality. Placidas was the saintโs name before baptism, which is why it appears alongside Eustathius in the dedication.
The village lies on the slopes between Tbilisi and Mtskheta, by the ridge that separates the city from the Kura valley. A kilometre and a half north, in Mukhatskaro, stands a church of St George.
Visits are free and modest dress is appropriate for services. Quiet is expected inside, and candles are lit by the entrance.
