A small church in Dzveli Kanda stands without a name: no dedication has stayed with it, and in the village it is known simply as the church.
The Kanda church stands less than two hundred metres from here, the monastery of the Thirteen Assyrian Fathers about a kilometre and a half away, and the Tsikhisdziri locality with its two old churches some two kilometres off. The village lies in the hills above the Mukhrani plain.
The church is rural and quiet: the gates are opened by arrangement, and the usual rules hold inside. The two churches of the village stand so close that they are easily confused, so steer by the coordinates rather than by the name.
