The cross complex of the Virgin Mary lies about a hundred metres south of the Kopala ground, lower down the mountain slope, near Akusho village in Dusheti Municipality. It is arranged more simply than its neighbour: only a hall and a service building.
The whole complex is ringed by a large enclosure, and that is an important part of the design: in highland shrines the enclosure marks the boundary of the consecrated ground, entered on special occasions.
The complex is assigned to the Middle Ages and lists it as a cultural heritage monument. Two more complexes of the same kind stand nearby, of the Kopala cross and the cross of Saint George, and together the three form a single nest of shrines above the village.
