The cross complex of Saint George lies below Akusho village in Dusheti Municipality, among tall ash trees on the edge of a steep slope. The spot is chosen so that it is barely visible from below while the whole valley opens up from above.
The complex consists of two buildings: a chapel and a tower for candles. Towers like this are set up in highland shrines so that the flame burns in the open air without going out in the wind.
The complex is assigned to the Middle Ages and lists it as a cultural heritage monument. This is the third of the three Akusho complexes: the Kopala cross and the cross of the Virgin Mary complexes stand nearby.
