The church of Ormasheni village is described in different ways: some call it simply a village church, others speak of ruins. The accounts differ, and only someone who reaches the spot and sees the building can settle the matter.
Ormasheni lies north-east of Dmanisi. Dmanisi itself is known far beyond Georgia for its archaeological site, where the oldest human remains in Europe were found, and the town is about eight kilometres from here.
The church holds no regular services and the place is open. If the building turns out to be ruined, going inside is not a good idea.
