The parish is dedicated to kviratskhoveli, a name that comes from the Georgian word for the Lord's day. Unlike the small village chapels around, this is a parish church proper, with a standing community.
Norio lies north east of Tbilisi, at the edge of the Gardabani plain, and the easiest approach is from the city. The village is a large one and the church stands within it rather than on the outskirts, as often happens in mountain villages.
A pilgrim should remember that a parish church keeps its own rhythm: services are not held every day, and it is better to arrange a visit through the community in advance. The usual rules apply here too: covered shoulders and knees, quiet.
