Lomina Lake and its waterfall are located in Khoni Municipality, near Okatse Canyon, one of the region's main natural attractions. The small lake is surrounded by forest, with a waterfall nearby, making it easy to combine with a canyon walk.
The Lomina Waterfall is especially impressive during high water, in April and May, when mountain snowmelt increases the flow. In summer the waterfall becomes calmer but remains scenic. The lake and waterfall together create a cool microclimate from the mist and evaporation, making the spot pleasant even on hot days.
The forest around the lake is typical Colchic woodland of western Georgia: beech, hornbeam, and dense vine growth form a thick green canopy. The path can be slippery during the rainy season, so allow extra time off-peak.
Most tour operators running Okatse Canyon trips include Lomina Lake as an add-on stop. Independent travellers can easily combine both in one day: a walk across the canyon's suspension bridges, followed by a short detour to the lake and waterfall.
