The church of Saint George stands in the upper part of Zarani village in Kharagauli Municipality, in the Gabuni locality. The hall is laid of small shirimi ashlars and poorly worked stone, with worked blocks placed at the corners and the window openings and door lintels carried out in sandstone.
The plan is rectangular with a wide semicircular apse on the east holding a tall wide window at its centre and two arched niches to the north of it. The hall is divided into three equal parts by two pairs of pilasters that project slightly from the plane of the wall and carry both the vault arches and the wall arches. Wide arched windows on the east, north and south give the light, and the lintels are profiled.
There are two entrances, on the south and west, dressed with architraves outside and arches within. A cross framed by an arched shaft is carved on the stone of the west architrave, and shafts of the same kind repeat the arches of the entrance. A small rectangular stone with a stylised cross lies above the architrave of the south entrance. Traces of plaster from an earlier restoration show on the east and west facades.
