Another church of Sakurtse. The dedication has not survived, so the church is simply called by the village name, and we will not invent a saint for it.
It stands about a kilometre from the church of Saint George, the main one in the village. Sakurtse lies in the eastern part of Imereti, in the hilly belt between Zestafoni and Sachkhere. The century of building is not established and no details have survived. Such cases are not rare in this part of the list: for village churches often only the type and the place are known.
The parish is rural and services are infrequent. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf. The dedication is easiest to learn from the villagers: in places like this it is usually remembered.
