A village church of the Holy Archangels, in Georgian usage Michael and Gabriel together. Their memory is marked twice a year and the dedication is among the commonest in the country.
The village name translates almost literally: tskali tsiteli is red water, while gadmoghma marks a position on this side of the river. The Tskaltsitela flows below Kutaisi, and by tradition its water was stained by the blood of local defenders who fell in battle against invaders. The monastery of Motsameta nearby is bound to the same tradition. The second village church, that of Saint George in the Akhaldaba quarter, is also in use. The century of building is not established.
The yard is open and can be approached at any time on any day. Dress modestly, women wear a headscarf, and keep quiet inside.
