The church of St. George in Konchkati is the only church site of the village. St. George remains the most frequent dedication in Guria as across Georgia.
The village lies in the western part of the region, not far from the coast, in the low-lying belt where the humid plains of Colchis begin. Western Guria differs noticeably in character from the mountainous east: it is flat and humid, with a great deal of water and marshy ground, and churches were placed on the rare dry rises.
You can walk up to the church at any time of day, which suits a trip along the coast without a fixed schedule. In autumn and winter the roads of lowland Guria often turn to mud, so bear that in mind when choosing a car. Dress soberly, women bring a headscarf.
