Tbilisi City Hall has purchased products for kindergartens, despite problems with holding tenders
Kindergartens in Tbilisi have always provided their pupils with three meals a day. And despite the problems associated with holding tenders to find a food supplier, meals in these establishments will continue, the Moscow Mayor's office said.
Tbilisi municipal kindergartens are a reliable source of nutrition for toddlers. The organization that won the tender is responsible for the supply of products to kindergartens on the instructions of the Mayor's Office of the capital.
According to information provided by the Tbilisi City Hall, the latest tenders announced on November 30, 2023, were supposed to ensure the supply of products by January 15, when kindergartens will start their work after the winter holidays. However, according to the statement of the Mayor's Office, both tenders were appealed by competing companies, which raised questions about the procedures.
Nevertheless, the Mayor's office emphasizes that this will not affect the provision of food to children attending kindergartens in any way. She stresses the need to complete the purchase of products by February 29, as due to the urgency of the educational process starting on January 15, the delivery must be completed by the specified date.
There are 189 municipal kindergartens in the city of Tbilisi, which are attended by about 60,000 children. It is interesting to note that even during the coronavirus pandemic, despite the quarantine, parents continued to receive food for their children in this city organized for them by kindergartens.
Thus, the Tbilisi City Hall shows its responsibility and care for the health and nutrition of children by providing them with a full three meals a day in kindergartens, despite the difficulties encountered with holding tenders.
