Victory Day. Georgia remembers its heroes
The Second World War is already a history that is not well taught at school.
Nevertheless, Victory Day on May 9 is a tearful holiday for every family from which grandfathers, fathers, brothers and sons left 80 years ago and did not return.
According to different data 700-750 thousand people from Georgian families went to the front. Half of them returned home. Soldiers of military units formed on the territory of Georgia were characterized by bravery and fighting ability.
Every soldier fought for his country, his home, his children and their future. The heroism and courage of Georgian soldiers and officers was marked by combat awards: Georgians have the largest number of orders, medals and titles of "Hero of the Soviet Union".
